Silas Hamilton

A versatile multi-instrumentalist, singer & performer, Silas has been around - in the 70’s sense. Growing up in Vermont surrounded by musicians and different genres has molded Silas and his music. From the old-time fiddle music his father played to the classical and baroque influences from his mother, a music teacher, Silas takes all of his inspirations and combines them to make everything he plays his own. From age 16, joining with longtime VT-based band Gypsy Reel would set him up for success. In 2019 he toured with Northern Harmony, a renowned polyphonic choir. After forming Spintuition, a trad power-trio, the band would go on to tie for 1st place at the Vermont Young Tradition contest in 2019 and released an album titled 7 Year Flood later that year. 

Based in Colorado for 2022, Silas expanded his horizons to bluegrass. He co-founded Tone Dog, a tight bluegrass trio with jazz influences. Touring with Tone Dog as well as Birds Of Play, for whom he helped nab 2nd place at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival, he toured non-stop throughout the summer. Now based back in Vermont, he produces, writes, and records at his home studio. His first solo album "All The Ways" released Nov. 2023.
